Job Description: 

The role of this Design Engineer is to support the Process Engineering Group (Engine Component Manufacturing) with design solutions for manufacturing and assembly jigs/fixtures, for prototype assembly tools and production equipment, providing capability solutions for efficiency and to control quality.

The Role: 

• CAD bespoke design and release of drawings for a busy Manufacturing and Build Shop environment.
• Ongoing review and revision of existing equipment and assembly tools.
• Supporting the implementation of processes and equipment for new parts.
• Designing all of the equipment needed to assemble high performance engines in a production controlled method.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile: 

• A working knowledge of engine component function, Cylinder Heads, Crankcase Assemblies and Engine Assembly is an advantage.
• An interest in high performance automotive engines.
• An Engineering/Motorsport degree or similar experience.
• Experience of a CAD software package, NX an advantage with Teamcentre PLM.
• A confident team player.
