Commercial Director
As we continue to expand our business, we are now seeking a highly strategic and driven Commercial Director who will be based at our Silverstone circuit offices.
Job Description:
Delta Cosworth is looking to recruit a dynamic, hands-on and results-orientated Commercial Director to work with the business development team to achieve the next phase of growth.
The Role:
- Understand, analyze and develop a market business growth strategy business plan.
- Forecast and deliver the agreed budget in terms of SOI, In year revenue, and other agreed measures, through the development of existing accounts and securing new accounts across Land, Sea, Air and Energy.
- To act a key member of the Senior Leadership team supporting the overall strategy of the business in line with the MD’s strategy and procedures, including attendance at divisional meetings.
- To establish a strong working relationship with customers, at all levels, ensuring Cosworth is “the first name on the page” regarding electrification systems and vehicle programmes.
- Define, build, and lead the Commercial Team to win significant annuity revenue programs.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth around electrification systems and vehicle programmes.
- Maintain all proposals and plans in line with Cosworth Group Governance and Assurance and ensure compliance of all commercial activity with the Authority Matrix.
- Lead all sales operation & admin activities e.g. orders & invoices raised.
- Enhance brand presence through attendance and presence at events / trade shows to network and generate new business opportunities.
- Use the CRM system to maintain and manage a pipeline of new business.
- Attend and support the improvement of Collaboration with group Commercial, best practices and sales excellence team to share ideas and support group commercial activity.
- Liaise with group Marketing to ensure you have the assets required to fulfil the role.
- Report Commercial updates to group Exec team on a monthly basis through trading reviews.
- Work with the departmental heads to review and enhance the commercial and technical offering. This may include suggestions of new products or services to be developed.
- Undertake travel (national and / or international) as required by the role.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
Technical
- Degree level Business or Engineering background, or a proven track record in high performance engineering product sales.
- Good contract negotiation, selling and deal closing skills.
- Excellent market, customer and commercial analysis.
- Experience of product, services and consulting based sales.
- Familiarity with financial and management accounting information, from both a planning and reporting perspective.
- Exceptional presentation skills.
- Clear and accurate proposal writing skills.
- Ability to work independently to agreed goals.
- Ability to build and manage a high performance commercial team
People
- An established career with a proven track record of generating sales and building relationships with customers in your sector.
- Able to engage and influence.
- Experience in selling automotive electrification products and solutions.
- Effective and creative problem solver.
- Able to communicate effectively (verbal & written) both internally and externally at all levels.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative.
