Graduate Operations Assistant
Graduate role in Operations & Procurement with training and CIPS support. Gain hands-on experience in purchasing, admin & process improvement. Full-time & part-time considered.
Job Description:
The Operations Team performance indicators focus on customer satisfaction across New Builds and Service Returns. This role supports timely deliveries, contributes to procurement activities, and helps develop and improve operational processes.
The Role:
- Customer Returns Support – Assist with the administration of customer returned materials; check that returned goods match what was sent; update the Returns Tracker to keep customers informed; help process returns paperwork accurately.
- Procurement Support (Production Materials) – Support the sourcing of production materials such as metalwork, electronic components, and ad-hoc requirements; develop attention to detail while helping to maintain supplier relationships; work to agreed timescales and budgets.
- Procurement Support (Site Services and Travel) – Assist with procuring site service materials and help coordinate travel arrangements as required.
- Environmental and Compliance Administration – Support the organisation and maintenance of environmental and legislative records, including COSHH documentation and waste transfer requirements.
- Stock Management Assistance – Take part in quarterly and annual stock takes as part of the wider operations team.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice
Candidate Profile:
- Able to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with colleagues and external stakeholders in person and by phone.
- Skilled at building and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, with a willingness to explore solutions and work collaboratively with the wider team.
- Educated to degree level in a Business or Technical discipline (2:1 or above preferred, but all applications considered).
- Committed to professional development, including undertaking CIPS training and membership.
- Positive and solutions-focused attitude with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Willing to engage directly to resolve issues quickly and constructively.
- Ability to challenge obstacles appropriately and contribute to delivering customer satisfaction.
