Job Description:
Cosworth are seeking a Production Planner to join our team, responsible for managing our manufacturing requirements through effective scheduling and coordination of material supply. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production plans align with customer demand, inventory targets, and resource availability.
The Role:
Develop, issue, and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules to meet demand and inventory targets.
Maintain accurate production data in SAP.
Propose recovery plans in response to changes in demand, material availability or equipment breakdowns.
Balance workload across resources and shifts to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with our Purchasing department and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of BOM items.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to share requirement deadlines and forecast.
Manage supply of raw material and subcontract services.
Create purchase and production orders.
Maintain strong relationship with stakeholders (internal departments, suppliers and subcontractors)
Maintain long term resource utilization forecast based on multi-year production plan and NPI forecast.
Participate in daily production planning reviews.
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
Understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning.
Experience of using ERP systems in a planning role (preferably SAP S/4 Hanna).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills across departments.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Motivated to progress into a managerial role.
