CNC Setter Operator - Turning / Milling
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CNC Setter Operator to join our Components team at our Northampton site on a fixed-term basis for a period of 12 months. Could lead to a permanent position.
Job description:
As a key member of our manufacturing operation, you will be responsible for producing high-precision crankshafts, camshafts, and various other engine components for leading super and hyper car manufacturers.
The Role:
Set up, operate, and monitor multiple CNC machines ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
Read, interpret, and edit CNC programs, identifying and correcting errors in NC code to ensure smooth production flow.
Perform quality control checks using various measurement tools and inspect machinery, tooling, and equipment to maintain product standards.
Manufacture components efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to company standards and procedures.
Maintain high level of communication with the Team and report operational issues promptly.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to methods, processes, and tooling.
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
Experience as a CNC Setter Operator, preferably within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
Mill Turn experience preferable but not essential
Proven ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and information.
Competence in using tool setting equipment.
Ability to problem solve effectively and demonstrate a forward-thinking mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
